I realised that I had never done a review of the games I actually played in 2024. Perhaps I should’ve started the new year off with this, but I was excited about getting back into my usual articles instead. Better late than never, however, here is my list of games played in 2024.

Completed

Return of the Obra Dinn (Completed: January 11)

While the art style first drew me to the game, I fell in love with the mechanics and the story instead. There were so many intricate clues hidden throughout the game that I never expected and was pleasantly surprised with, some I even discovered only after the game.

It was also the first game that I had forced those around me to play, as I thought it was a great beginner’s game.

A definite 5 stars.

Chants of Sennaar (Completed: February 4)

Another game that I really enjoyed starting the year off with as it overlapped another interest of mine, linguistics. Getting to experience the world and its people through deciphering their languages was so much fun. The only criticisms I had (if I remember right) were the lack of…
